The keeper claimed 10.4 per cent of your votes after a very impressive first season as Arsenal's official No 1. But where did it all start for Manuel as a footballer?

In an exclusive interview with Arsenal TV Online, he goes right back to the beginning of his life in football and reflects on his journey 'from backstreet to pro'. Subscribers can watch the first of this two-part interview now.

Part One
The reason he became a keeper, coping with asthma, joining his first Club, the idea of professional football, juggling studying and training, playing on 'rubbish' pitches, getting in trouble for his dirty kit, signing for Osasuna.

Part Two
stitching up his own gloves, the motivation from his father, how the Osasuna move came about, the difference between amateur and pro, making his debut against Racing Santander, dealing with the packed stadium, his performance in the match.
