AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri insists his side will not rest on their laurels during Tuesday’s second leg at Emirates Stadium.

The Italian giants head into the match with the odds stacked firmly in their favour after a convincing 4-0 win at the San Siro three weeks ago.

And Allegri says he will do everything in his power to ensure that Milan do not lose focus on the night.

“When we play in the last 16 of the Champions League against Arsenal in London, despite the fact we won 4-0 in the first leg, I would never expect my team to feel more relaxed tomorrow,” he said.

“In football, anything can happen. I think we need to step out on the pitch fired up for the 90 minutes without thinking about the first leg.

“It [failure] must not happen, for us it is an important match. It is such an important target for us to get through to the next round so that we can take a step further towards the championship.”
