Emmanuel Eboue
Ivory Coast 0-0 Burkina Faso
Monday, January 11
Emmanuel Eboue played 90 minutes for Ivory Coast as they were held to a goalless draw by Burkina Faso in their opening game of the Africa Cup of Nations. Eboue had a penalty claim rejected after he went down under the challenge of Hamadou Tall in the 21st minute. The 26-year-old had a chance to open the scoring nine minutes later but his venomous drive flashed wide across the face of goal. The Ivorians had a flurry of opportunities throughout the match but Burkina Faso frustrated their opponents to earn a point.
