Benik Afobe scored a magnificent treble to inspire England to a comfortable 4-0 win over Cyprus on Sunday.
The 17-year-old has been in fine form for Neil Banfield’s Reserves this season and showcased his talent with an outstanding performance in Belgium.
Afobe scored his first after just four minutes when Michael Ngoo got past Dimitris Moulazimis before pulling the ball back to the Arsenal man who smashed home from six yards.
The pair combined again on the half-hour mark when Ngoo's high cross gave Afobe a simple tap-in at the far post for his second.
The score was 3-0 when the striker completed his hat-trick after 74 minutes. He latched onto a through-ball by Ross Barkley and confidently slotted home to seal a memorable hat-trick.
Afobe will remain with the Young Lions for their UEFA European Championship qualifier with Belgium on Wednesday afternoon.Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Permission to use quotations from this article is granted subject to appropriate credit being given to www.arsenal.com as the source
