Emmanuel Adebayor believes Arsenal must aim to make history at the San Siro in a fortnight.

Milan went home favourites to reach the Champions League Quarter-Finals after a 0-0 draw at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. Arsène Wenger's side only need a scoring draw to go through but Adebayor believes they must go for the win - something no English side has achieved.

"A score draw will do but it is important to think about winning," said the 23-year-old. "Because it is Milan you know they can score at any time.

"It is going to be very difficult now. But we know we have a good squad and a good spirit. We have to fight together for the qualification.

"The belief is very high. We know Cesc Fabregas and Alex Hleb can score at any time and hopefully Tomas Rosicky will be back by then. We hope to pass through Milan."

Adebayor might have put a very different complexion on the second leg had he scored in the last second from Theo Walcott's wonderful cross. However his header came back off the bar.

"What happened there? I can't even explain it," exclaimed the Golden Boot contender. "That is what football is like. Sometimes everything is OK, sometimes the ball doesn't want to go into the net.

"Tonight I had an amazing chance but I put the ball on the bar. But as a striker the most important thing is to create the chances. Hopefully I will put it in at the San Siro when we go there."
