Emmanuel Adebayor will miss the trip to Sheffield United on Saturday.
The in-form Arsenal striker picked up a thigh strain in the
final stages of the 2-1 win at Watford on Boxing Day. It is on the
opposite leg to the one suffered by the Togolese international at
West Brom earlier this season. However this one is ill-timed given
that Thierry Henry is also missing with a hamstring injury.
On the upside, the tight hamstring which forced
Johan Djourou off at half time at Vicarage Road is not
considered too serious.
"Djourou is injured a little bit but what is worse that we lost Adebayor with a thigh strain," said Wenger afterwards. "It is exactly the same but on the other leg. He will be out for Saturday."
