Striker Emmanuel Adebayor says 2008 was his best year as a professional footballer. The 24-year-old celebrated it by picking up the African Player of the Year award this week.
The Togolese target man finished last season with 30 goals and has 11 at the midway point this term. However he has already outstripped his tally of assists in 2007/08. In an exclusive interview with Arsenal TV Online, the striker talked about:
- receiving his award in Africa this week
- enjoying his first full season in partnership with Robin van Persie
- the change in emphasis from goal-taker to goal-maker
- the 10-point gap at the top of the table
- his belief that the season starts now
- his sending off against Liverpool
- the two draws against title contenders over Christmas
- the change in formation up front
