Frank Stubbs: Moving on

13/14: Manchester City 6-3 Arsenal - Theo Walcott

If we had gone to Man City and picked up three points that saw us a couple clear at the top of the league we would have all come away ecstatic. The latter hasn't changed, even if the game at the Etihad didn't quite turn out how we all hoped.

The mad busy period in the build up to Christmas, both socially and workwise, has meant my latest thoughts have been somewhat delayed and as a result I would rather look forward than back.

The last week in a nutshell… Bayern Munich came out of the Champions League hat, an enormously tough draw but any of them would have been. From a fan's point of view Bavaria never fails to succeed on the entertainment front so that is something we can all look forward to in March.

Saturday's early kick-off meant a Friday departure for our party and on this occasion a night out in Chester. We didn't have time to enjoy the Christmas markets in this hugely historic city but the night time entertainment was enjoyed to the fore.

On matchday we defended badly, conceding six goals means you don't need to be an expert to concede that. It was a strange game however, with enough chances and borderline decisions going against us to suggest that we might have got something from the game.

Disappointing yes but we go into Monday's big fixture at home to our west London neighbours in a strong position and with the opportunity to bounce back.

Night games have a special atmosphere as we all know. Throw in the festive spirit of this time of year and it promises to be quite an atmosphere in London N5. We need to use that to our advantage boys and girls so 'sing up'!

Come on you reds!
