Arsenal made a solid start to their Premier League campaign, staying unbeaten after three matches before the international break.
Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud lead a new-look Gunners attack and two of them were on target in a 2-0 win at Liverpool after consecutive 0-0 draws with Sunderland and Stoke.
At the other end Arsenal have started the new campaign with three clean sheets and their solidity in defence and midfield augurs well for the months ahead.
New captain Thomas Vermaelen has forged a fine understanding with Per Mertesacker while Mikel Arteta has occupied a deeper role in front of the back four since the departure of Alex Song.
There are plenty of other contenders for our Player of the Month award. Vito Mannone has impressed since stepping in for the injured Wojciech Szczesny, Kieran Gibbs has been an attacking force on the left flank and Abou Diaby is in fantastic form after returning from a long spell on the sidelines.
