By Josh James in Kuala Lumpur

The enthusiasm with which both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wojciech Szczesny bounded into the interview room gave a good indication that the Arsenal players are in good spirits for the 2012 Asia Tour.

Sit-down interviews with the Arsenal Media Group might not be top of the wishlist for players immediately after a 14-hour flight, but the heartfelt welcome the Malaysian locals extended to the squad upon their arrival in Kuala Lumpur certainly put a spring in everyone's step. There was no sign of jetlag either, in fact Oxlade-Chamberlain described the flight as "the most enjoyable of my life".

You can see the interviews on Arsenal Player now - just a sample of some of the extensive coverage of the Asia Tour coming your way over the next week or so.

Twenty-four players have made the trip for Arsenal's eight-day tour of Asia, and all were involved on the opening day, taking part in a signing session for 200 local fans in the ballroom suite of the team hotel, situated on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.

Earlier a joint press conference - with Arsène Wenger, Ivan Gazidis, the head coach of the Malaysia national team Dato Rajagopal, Szczesny, Oxlade-Chamberlain and various dignitaries - launched the tour. Last year Arsenal beat Rajagopal's side 4-0 and Wenger (after congratulating the Malaysian boss for 'surviving' another year in the job) said he expected the opposition to provide a tougher test this time around.

The match against the Malaysia XI will take place on Tuesday evening at 9.45pm local time (2.45pm in UK) but before that the Arsenal squad will spend their first full day in Kuala Lumpur at various supporter events around the city tomorrow.

Full coverage, will of course, appear on Arsenal.com throughout.
