GunnersGaming by Betsson, Arsenal’s Official Betting Partner, give us the rundown on some of the markets on offer ahead of Sunday’s game against West Brom...
Sunday is the final day of the season and there is still so much at stake at the top and bottom of the league. Arsenal know that al three points are required at The Hawthorns if they want to guarantee Champions League football next season.
They did not manage that on their last visit to The Hawthorns, however, where they were held to a 2-2 draw having been 2-0 down with late goals from Andrey Arshavin and Robin van Persie rescuing a point. But they have only tasted defeat at West Brom once and that was back in 1973.
To add further spice to the match Roy Hodgson will be hoping to sign off in style in what is his final game before turning his attentions to England duties (don’t forget to check out all our Euro 2012 markets).
The game also marks Arsène Wenger's 600th Premier League match in charge and he will use all of his experience to ensure that his side are prepared for what promises to be a tense final day of action.
After four games without a win it is no surprise that The Football Predictor gives the Gunners just a 40 per cent chance of securing the win (at 4/6). While that gives Arsenal the slight edge, The Predictor has 1-1 (at 5/1) as the most likely scoreline. That would leave Arsène Wenger's side relying on slip-ups from both Tottenham and Newcastle and in serious danger of missing out.
If Arsenal are to win, The Football Predictor recommends 1-0 as the most likely outcome and that is available at 6/1.
Robin van Persie will be hoping to guide his team over the line and the Dutchman is 5/2 to score that all-important first goal. Having scored in his last two games against the Baggies the captain may also fancy his chances of breaking the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring record over a 38-game season. He is 7/2 to score more than 1.5 goals, which would be enough to take him past Cristiano Ronaldo and Alan Shearer’s record.
