GunnersGaming by Betsson, Arsenal’s Official Betting Partner, give us the rundown on some of the markets on offer ahead of Wednesday’s match against Wolves...
Arsenal enjoyed a satisfying Easter weekend with a last-minute victory over Man City on Sunday, a result further sweetened by re-establishing a small cushion in the race for Champions League qualification.
Arsène Wenger's side have put together a terrific run in recent months and will be hoping to continue that form when they visit bottom-of-the-table Wolves on Wednesday night.
Terry Connor’s side have lost seven of their last eight Premier league games and have managed just three wins at Molineux all season. Connor is yet to see his side taste victory. It therefore comes as no surprise that, despite fighting for Premier League survival, The Football Predictor gives Wolves minimal chance of taking anything from the game. The Predictor gives Arsenal an 85 per cent chance of picking up all three points and that makes the odds of 4/9 reasonable value.
Having predicted Arsenal’s 1-0 win on Sunday there is a much better return available in once again backing The Predictor’s most likely scorelines. It cannot separate 3-0 and 3-1 as the most likely outcomes, so cash in on the 9/1 on offer for a 3-1 Arsenal win. Alternatively if you think that the Gunners can add to their three clean four games, 7/1 for a 3-0 win also looks rewarding.
However, it has been 10 games since Arsenal last scored more than two goals on their travels so there could be some interest in fewer than 2.5 goals in the game, available at 11/8.
Wolves have already held the Gunners to a 1-1 draw at Emirates Stadium this season but could be under more pressure to open up and look for the win in front of their own fans. That would certainly play into Arsenal’s hands and Theo Walcott (7/4 to score at anytime) or Mikel Arteta (4/1 to score anytime) will look to capitalise on any space that creates.
Interestingly, Marouane Chamakh and Robin van Persie have scored the same number of Premier League goals against Wolves. While Chamakh is 7/4 to score any time, Van Persie is 8/11 to bring an end to his four-game goal drought and is 11/4 to score first.
