Robin van Persie is determined to lead Arsenal on another long unbeaten run – starting against Wolves on Tuesday.

The Gunners captain believes his side can keep up the pressure on their main rivals with victory at Emirates Stadium, but he is under no illusions about the threat posed by Mick McCarthy’s team.

“The big tests keep on coming, and Wolves will give us another one,” Van Persie told the Official Matchday Programme.

“We did well against them last time they came here, winning 2-0 just before the Barcelona game. I remember scoring a couple, with Alex Song also getting a really nice goal. So it’ll be hard for Wolves, but they’ll be fighting strongly because every single point counts for them.

“I think they have a really good team, with really dangerous wingers on both sides and decent midfielders. They work very hard so it will be a challenge for us, but I believe we have a good chance of going on another long run so let’s show that today.

“We’ve just been to two of the hardest places in the league [Villa and Manchester City] and consider that we should have picked up more than three points, so we’re in a good position to put something interesting together.”
