Last week's Champions League Group Stage draw pitted Arsenal with Marseille, Olympiacos and Borussia Dortmund.

The draw signals the return of Euro Watch, our weekly check on the progress of Arsenal's European opponents in their domestic leagues.

Borussia Dortmund

Bayer Leverkusen 0-0 Borussia Dortmund
Saturday, August 27
Borussia Dortmund prepared to host the Gunners on September 13 with a goalless draw at Bayer Leverkusen. The visitors were reduced to ten men after 77 minutes when young midfielder Mario Gotze was shown a second yellow card. Earlier in the match the home side had seen a man dismissed when defender Michael Kadlec was shown a straight red. The result leaves the Bundesliga champions fourth in the division table after four matches.

Olympiacos FC

Olympiacos P-P Kavala
Saturday, August 27
The Greek league season began in chaos with three of the 16 teams in the Super League still yet to be decided. Olympiacos’ opener did not take place because opponents Kavala were relegated to the fourth division on Tuesday over a match-fixing scandal.

Olympique de Marseille

Lille 3-2 Marseille
Sunday, August 28
Marseille are still looking for their first win of the Ligue 1 season after going down 3-2 at Lille. Senegalese striker Moussa Sow gave the champions an early lead but Mathieu Valbuena struck twice to give Marseille the edge just after the hour mark. Aurelien Chedjou levelled within six minutes and Sow converted the winner from the penalty spot with 15 minutes left. Marseille currently sit in 16th place with three points.
