Arsène Wenger's disappointment at his team's 2-0 defeat in Braga has been compounded by injuries to two of his players.

Cesc Fabregas was replaced with 22 minutes remaining on Tuesday night after suffering a recurrence of the hamstring problem that has troubled him for some time and Emmanuel Eboue was stretchered off in the closing stages after a tackle from behind.

Wenger will wait for an assessment of his captain's fitness at London Colney but he is expecting to be without both Fabregas and Eboue in the short-term.

"Eboue has a medial knee ligament strain from the tackle from behind. Fabregas has a hamstring strain," said Wenger after the match.

"Eboue will be out for a while. We will assess Fabregas tomorrow [Wednesday] but it could be two to three weeks, we don't know yet.

"It is very disappointing because I had a hesitation to play him [Fabregas] before the game started. But I took the gamble and it back-fired on us."
