Chelsea 1-0 Bolton

Jack Wilshere started his eighth Bolton game but could not prevent Chelsea taking a four-point lead in the title race with a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Nicolas Anelka headed home Didier Drogba's cross in the 43rd minute to give Carlo Ancelotti's side all three points on Tuesday evening. Johan Elmander replaced Wilshere in the closing stages. The result means Bolton remain five points and three places above the relegation zone with four games left to play.


Gillingham 1-1 Brighton

Gavin Hoyte played 90 minutes as Brighton drew 1-1 at relegation strugglers Gillingham on Tuesday evening. Adam El-Abd headed the Seagulls into an early lead but Adam Miller fired home an equaliser shortly after half time. Brighton were presented a chance to win the game when Josh Gowling was dismissed for a pull on Glenn Murray inside the area. However, Alan Julian saved the Brighton striker's subsequent penalty. With four games remaining Gus Poyet's side are eight points clear of the relegation zone.


MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

Mark Randall played 90 minutes as MK Dons' winless run stretched to seven games with a 0-0 draw at home to Oldham on Tuesday evening. The match was Randall's 11th appearance for Paul Ince's side since moving to stadiummk on January 15. The Dons look set for a middle-table finish in League One and are currently 10th with 59 points from 42 games.


Southend 2-2 Brentford
Tuesday, April 13
Wojciech Szczesny left the field midway through the second half of Brentford's 2-2 draw away at Southend due to an ankle injury. Bees manager Andy Scott said the problem is not serious. Charlie MacDonald put the visitors ahead after 21 minutes but Francis Laurent equalised in the 56th minute. Shortly after the hour Carl Cort restored Brentford's lead but that lasted less than 60 seconds as Laurent's close-range second earned Southend a point.
