Arsène Wenger warned us about November and, not for the first time, he was proved right as injuries took their toll and results were harder to come by.
It was more positive than negative - Arsenal won three and lost two of their five November matches - but some of the early-season momentum was lost by those defeats against Sunderland and Chelsea.
The month started very well with two goals for Cesc Fabregas and a 4-1 victory over AZ Alkmaar and Arsenal were equally ruthless at Wolves with Fabregas and Andrey Arshavin both on target. But the international break broke Arsenal's rhythm - and deprived them of Robin van Persie - and a long unbeaten run ended at Sunderland. Worse was to follow against Chelsea but there was another comfortable Champions League win to enjoy in between those Premier League set-backs with Samir Nasri and Denilson scoring against Standard Liege.
As ever there are a number of contenders for our Player of the Month award. Bacary Sagna was solid at the back, Alex Song was outstanding in his defensive midfield role, Fabregas made the midfield tick and scored three times, Emmanuel Eboue impressed in a variety of roles while Nasri found his stride after his lengthy lay-off
