‘We are united and must stay that way’

The team celebrate Alexis' opening goal in the 2-0 win at Southampton

Four wins out of five have boosted our chances of finishing in the top four for the 21st consecutive season.

After a disappointing February and March - in which we lost three of four matches - Arsène Wenger feels his team’s response is evidence of their character.

“I believe the team wants to do well and is united,” the manager said. “It was not easy mentally for the players because they had some difficult environments as well [in recent weeks]. But we’ve been very united and we have just to stay like that - strong together.

“What I want is just to play and to win. Are we under pressure or not? I think we are. Because we know what is requested from us, so we just focus on our job.

“I just want to focus on doing well in my job and just to focus on Stoke now and see how I can prepare well for Stoke with the team. After, we’ll see at the end of the season how we are.”
