Taylor - The early goal was crucial

We got off to a flying start in our 5-1 win over Yeovil on Sunday - and Jodie Taylor feels the early opener was crucial.

Taylor steered a penalty into the bottom-right corner of goal after just six minutes, setting Pedro Martinez Losa's side on the path to victory.

"Last week against Sunderland we struggled to score as the game went on and it became harder and harder for us to find the target," Taylor said. "Today I felt that if we get an early goal that we could push on from there and we did that.

“I’m pleased with our first half display, the second half died down a little bit, but overall I’m delighted with the result.

“I went to step up to take it - Arsenal’s second penalty- but my teammate and my roomie HAO (Heather O’Reilly) offered to take it and she hasn’t scored all season, so I thought ‘Ok, I’ll let her take it ’. But now – on reflection – I kind of wish that I did take it.

“It’s a massive achievement for us to get the win today, the biggest thing for us was to get off the mark early on."
