'His anticipation is absolutely huge'

Our under-23s return to action against Manchester United on Monday night - and Arsene Wenger has reserved special praise for captain Ben Sheaf.

The 19-year-old defender signed a new deal with the club earlier this campaign and has already left a positive impression on the manager.

"He’s always ahead of the game and his anticipation quality is absolutely huge," Wenger told Arsenal Player.

"He has that kind of mental strength as well. A typical British way of handling things, facing the difficulties with a very cool and intelligent way.

"There is something in him that I believe will allow him to progress always. Because he analyses well what’s happening to him, he assesses well what is going on and that’s why I believe he will have a good career."

Sheaf is likely to be in action in tonight's Premier League 2 meeting with the Red Devils - set to be streamed live on Arsenal.com with kick-off at 7pm (UK time).
