Players try unusual target practice

Carl Jenkinson, Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi were put to the test recently in the Citroën C1 Airscape Challenge.

The C1 Airscape, driven by stunt driver Paul Swift, became a target on two wheels as the players attempted to kick footballs through the open Airscape roof.

Citroën, the club’s Official Automotive Partner, challenged Arsenal players Carl Jenkinson, Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi to an unusual type of target practice after one of their training sessions. The players attempted to kick footballs through the open roof of a Citroën C1 Airscape as professional stunt driver Swift drove past them on two wheels – a driving stunt known as ‘skiing’.

Despite being faced with the challenge of a moving target, Jenkinson showed off his crossing ability to dominate the contest, finishing with five clean strikes through the open Airscape roof.

Arsenal vice-captain, Koscielny finished in second spot with two successful strikes, while Mustafi finished on zero, despite a number of close attempts.

With 30 years' experience, Swift began his stunt driving career at the age of seven when he learned to drive the family’s ride-on lawnmower on two wheels. He went on to become the youngest driver to perform the stunt in a motorised vehicle, achieving a world record in 1987.

With even better handling on all four wheels, the stylish C1 Airscape is available with five doors and comes complete with a simple-to-use, quick and exceptionally large electric sliding sunroof (800mm x 760mm) - perfect for when you want to enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather.
