'Colombia has taken a step forward now'

For David Ospina, Medellin has always been 'home'.

The Colombia international was born there in 1988 and spent his childhood in the city, which is now more widely-known for being at the heart of TV series such as Narcos, the biographical thriller about Pablo Escobar.

Arsenal team-mate Santi Cazorla recently revealed that Ospina recommended the drama to him, but the man himself says he has "mixed feelings" about it.

"I've recommended lots of series to Santi since I've been here - I've given him quite a few names," Ospina told Arsenal Player. "The first one was El Patron del Mal, a Colombian series also about Pablo Escobar. It narrates his life, from childhood right through to death.

"To be honest, I didn't watch that much of Narcos. I saw a few episodes. It's not quite the same as the other series, but I think they did a good job with Narcos, too.

"People who weren't around back then are interested to find out what happened in Colombia during that time, but I'm sure it must be quite painful for people who did experience it and lost loved ones. That must be tough.

"I guess I have mixed feelings about it, but you do learn about what Colombia went through back then. Thankfully Colombia has taken a step forward now and we're in a much better place."
