Cech - The moment the game changed

Petr Cech pulled off one magnificent save to deny Kevin De Bruyne on Sunday but he couldn’t stop Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling scoring the goals that cost us all three points at the Etihad.

This is what Petr said after the game:

on the turning point…
I think what changed was the early goal in the second half. It gave them all the confidence and, having been 1-0 down at half-time, they had to come back out and put us under more pressure. Unfortunately they managed to score the first goal and after that it gave them confidence and they pressed us a bit more. I thought we were pretty much in control of the game, even in the second half, when they had more possession. We couldn’t hold onto it and the second goal changed everything, because then they could defend well and wait for the counter-attacks, which were very dangerous.

on if David Silva was in his line of sight for the winner…
I have to say that there were players in front of the ball, so I didn’t even see the shot. To be honest, there were people running across and I don’t know if one of them was David Silva or not, but I didn’t see the ball because it was behind the players.

on how disappointing the result is…
We are very disappointed. We had two games away and we wanted to get as many points as possible, and we have none. We are disappointed with that, we’ve given the other teams that are on top the advantage. But there’s a long way to go and we can come back, ideally win the next game and then get on a run. Anything can happen so we need to concentrate on ourselves, go back to winning games and we’ll see what the others will do.
