'It's time for me to kick on now'

Alex Iwobi has said he wants to earn back his starting place after netting his first Premier League goal of the season on Saturday.

The forward followed his strike against Basel on Tuesday night with the third goal in the win over Stoke, and he's hoping it's enough to win back his place in the team.

"I was able to get a goal last week in the Champions League and now I was able to get one in the Premier League," he told Arsenal Player after the game.

"I just need to kick on now and show what I can do to get into the starting team again.

"It was much needed win - even though we started off a bit shaky, we were able to get through in the end and it was a great performance from the team.

"We’d like to clean a sheet but we were able to get three points, we defended well and it will boost our confidence."

The game marked our annual charity matchday, and Iwobi dedicated the win to all the people who benefit from The Arsenal Foundation's work.

"I didn’t know much until I actually went there," he said, referring to his visit to the club's Community Hub.

"It was a great experience to see what Arsenal can do off the pitch. The opportunities other people have and what Arsenal give to the community is just amazing. I guess we owe this victory to them."
