'Charity's part of the DNA of this club'

Arsene Wenger has expressed his pride in the work of the Arsenal Foundation ahead of Saturday’s charity matchday against Stoke City.

The manager and the players will donate a day’s wages to help people around the world, while supporters are also encouraged to dig deep this weekend.

“Football is a privileged world and the Arsenal Foundation is part of our DNA at the club. We are very proud to have our own foundation and help people who are less privileged than we are all over the world.

“If they can contribute to our foundation, it would be very helpful and I’m sure many fans would do that,” Wenger said.

“We focus on building pitches in areas where people don’t have that privilege and I think we do that well, even if you feel that you never do enough in this domain. We dedicate a lot of energy inside our club to our foundation.”
