Joel Campbell wins a penalty against MLS All-Stars

After three days of training, day four of Arsenal’s tour to California brought with it the Gunners’ first match since arriving in the States.

Before the game against the MLS All-Stars, Freddie Ljungberg and Liam Brady - plus Gunnersaurus - surprised fans by attending a pre-match fan event in San Jose.

Thousands of Arsenal fans had made the trip to the Avaya Stadium, and they certainly made themselves heard throughout, with hundreds lining the streets to welcome the team off the bus.

The game itself was entertaining too - Rob Holding and Granit Xhaka both impressed in their first match for the club, while substitute Chuba Akpom was named MVP after scoring a late winner.

San Jose had provided plenty of fond memories but after full-time it was time to say goodbye and fly to Los Angeles, the venue for Sunday’s final match of the tour.
