‘What he has achieved is tremendous’

Arsene Wenger has hailed Fabio Capello’s “tremendous” contribution to football.

The Frenchman will go head to head with his Italian counterpart when they take charge of a game between Arsenal Legends and Milan Glorie at Emirates Stadium - and he is looking forward to the experience.

“What Capello has achieved in the game is tremendous and it is good to see him back,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“[I have known him for] 25 to 30 years. He was managing Milan and I was in Monaco, so we met. Italy and France are very close countries, but I’ve known him for a long, long time.

“You share ideas, you share worries and you share experience and you share the suffering. We are in a job where if you are masochistic you get a lot of pressure so that unites people as well!”
