Danielle van de Donk is aiming to add more goals to her game after helping Arsenal Ladies beat Sunderland 5-1 on Saturday.

Two own-goals from Sunderland captain Stephanie Bannon gave the Gunners an early lead, before Natalia Pablos Sanchon's brace and a second-half strike from Dominique Janssen completed a comfortable victory at Meadow Park.

"I think we played very well in the first half but the second half was a little bit disappointing because we didn't score that much"

Van de Donk was a key part of Arsenal's forward line and, although she was pleased with the Gunners' team performance, the Netherlands international was disappointed not to get on the scoresheet herself.

“I got some opportunities but when you get them you have to score,” she told Arsenal.com. “My performance was alright but it always can be better.

"It was my first full game again after a long time, and it was alright. I’m happy with it. For the next game it’s good to have my confidence again.

“I think we played very well in the first half but the second half was a little bit disappointing because we didn't score that much.

"But, the whole game: we won and got three points and that was what we wanted.”
