‘Wilshere can find that killer pass’

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour says Jack Wilshere’s ability to find the “killer pass" makes him a key member of the England team.

The 24-year-old only played three times for the Gunners during 2015/16 due to an ankle injury, but was included in Roy Hodgson’s squad for Euro 2016.

Parlour is a big fan of Wilshere, and says he deserves his place for the Three Lions’ opening match against Russia.

“I would definitely play him, I know he’s had his injury problems over the past few seasons but he’s a quality player,” Parlour told Arsenal Player.

“In the qualifying rounds he was excellent, probably man of the match three games running. Roy has been quite loyal but I think he deserves his place.

“In terms of what Jack brings to the team, he is always going past players, he’s very comfortable on the ball, he’s got great balance when he goes past players and he always looks forward - he can find that killer pass.

“That is so important. If Harry Kane makes that run, you know Jack can find him with a pass.”
