Arsenal in the Community Gap Year programme

Arsenal in the Community are looking for enthusiastic candidates for the 2016/17 Gap Year Programme, with intakes starting in August and November this year.

Running since 2006, the programme sees participants contribute to the club’s community work in north London and overseas.

‘Gappers’ are trained to coach football and teach English in local schools and projects, before being given the opportunity to apply their new skills to community programmes around the world.

Over the past decade, participants have contributed to projects in 22 countries. This year coaches have been based in Bolivia, India, the Philippines , Australia, Israel, Vietnam, Hong Kong and in destinations across Africa. More exciting locations are planned for 2016/17.

Arsenal Gap Year graduate Shaun said: “The Gap Year Programme gives you a brilliant opportunity to do something you’re passionate about

“It also gives you the chance to meet people and see countries that you wouldn’t normally get the chance to. With the Arsenal name behind you, you’re are able to make a real positive impact in the projects you’re involved with.”

Applications for the August 2016 intake are open until the end of June. It is expected that places will fill quickly, so aspiring coaches should submit their application forms as soon as possible.
