Koscielny - Why Payet is so dangerous

Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny says Dimitri Payet has become a better player since moving to the Premier League.

The West Ham playmaker has excelled during his first season in England to such an extent that some pundits are tipping him to win the PFA Player of the Year award.

Payed has scored nine times in the Premier League and has assisted a further eight goals in 2015/16 - and his recent form in particular has caught the eye of international team-mate Koscielny.

"He likes to have space and he plays on the left side, and every time he comes into the middle he can shoot or give some assists"

“I think he’s played well this season,” the defender said. “He’s better than last year, when he played for Marseille.

“Now he plays in England and I think he’s adapted well to the Premier League. He’s scored many goals, some unbelievable free-kicks [like] last week.

“I think he’s enjoying England. He likes to have space and he plays on the left side, and every time he comes into the middle he can shoot or give some assists.

“He’s a very dangerous player but I think West Ham have a good squad because they are strong at the back and up front they have a lot of players who can make the difference.

“It will be hard, like every game in England. We need to be ready for a fight, to win the duels, and after, to play our game like we played last week.

“We want to win and have the three points. That’s the most important for the end of the season.”
