Elneny - It’s a massive career shift

Mohamed Elneny says that playing for Arsenal will be a “massive shift” but he is determined to prove he is ready for the Premier League.

The Egypt midfielder moved to north London from Basel this month after helping the Swiss side win three consecutive Super League titles during his three-year spell at the club.

England offers Elneny a new challenge in his career but the 23-year-old feels he has what it takes to make the big step up.

"I am very keen to accept this responsibility. I am very aware of this and I am well prepared for this task"

“I expect it to be a massive shift in my career and a big starting point,” he told Arsenal Player. “I would like to achieve a lot and prove to myself and everyone that I am capable of playing in the Premier League and any league around the world. Hopefully I can develop my skills more and more.

“I always work hard to develop all aspects of my skills to benefit the club I play for. As I mentioned before, Arsenal is a big club and I have to live up to this responsibility. That’s why I work hard to develop myself continuously.”

Arsenal sit top of the league going into Sunday’s fixture against Chelsea at Emirates Stadium, and Elneny has been very impressed with their performances this season.
