Arsenal Ladies are delighted to celebrate with Hertsmere council who have won the community project of the year award for their We Move she Moves girls engagement programme.
The We Move, She Moves project which is aimed at getting women and girls aged 14 and above involved in sport.
Arsenal Ladies helped deliver girls football sessions for the programme in Queens school, Mount Grace School and Bushey Meads School.
Councillor Brenda Batten, Portfolio Holder for Health said: "It is wonderful that the project has finally got the recognition that it deserves. A lot of hard work has gone in to making We Move, She Moves a success and hopefully this accolade will trigger more women and girls to get involved in sport.
"The recent government sports strategy has identified local authorities as having a crucial role to play in forging partnerships, unlocking barriers to participation and delivering sport and physical activity opportunities."
Arsenal Ladies are looking forward to continuing to support this programme in 2016.
