Arsenal Foundation fund half-term club

Arsenal Foundation school club

Arsenal in the Community teamed up with The Ministry of Stories to deliver this half term holiday Club at The Arsenal Hub, funded by The Arsenal Foundation.

The Ministry of Stories is a local writing and mentoring centre in east London. The idea behind the project is that anyone aged eight to 18 can discover their own gift for writing.

At this half term holiday club, 18 pupils attended from St Mark’s , Montem, Pakeman and Duncombe Schools in Islington. Young people enjoyed a week of making and imagining, inspired by local history and the beautiful game. The participants went on a stadium tour of The Emirates, visited the Arsenal museum and the old Arsenal Stadium.

The participants spent time photographing their surroundings and sharpening their eye for stories, creating football superheroes and painting t-shirts with meaningful messages, all participants spent a prolific week generating ideas, images and words. The activities were delivered by Arsenal in the Community staff, supported by mentors from Ministry of Stories.
