Santi Cazorla has hailed Alexis as “one of the best players in the world” and says there are “no limits” for what he might achieve.
The Chile international has been a revelation since his arrival from Barcelona last year, scoring 25 goals in his debut season in England.
Alexis already has 10 goals in 17 appearances for club and country this term, and Cazorla is confident he can still go to an even higher level.
“He’s getting better every day, every year,” the Spaniard told Arsenal Player. “There are no limits for him. The ambition he has right across the board is incredible and that enables him to improve with every passing day.
“We’re lucky to have Alexis with us - I’ve always said that. We hope he keeps that level up. He’s one of the best players in the world.
“Let’s hope he maintains his form for the whole season because we will certainly be a lot stronger with him playing like he is right now.
“Whenever you’re playing with the best players in the world it’s really easy to achieve that understanding. Playing alongside Alexis is a privilege and it’s really easy to understand him on the pitch.”
