FA: WSL attendances soar in 2015

FA Women’s Super League (FA WSL) attendances have risen steeply this season with a 48 per cent year-on-year increase across the division.

The Gunners have enjoyed fantastic support during campaign, with an average of 1,178 supporters at Meadow Park to cheer the team on for WSL games. The 2,061 fans who came to Arsenal’s match against Liverpool in July was a club record for a WSL match at Meadow Park.

Across the league, the average attendance per match was 1,076 for 2015, compared to 728 in 2014. Attendances saw a significant jump following England’s success at this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, where the Lionesses finished third.

Arsenal play their final home match of the season on Sunday, against Birmingham City in the semi-finals of the Continental Cup. Tickets are available for the special online price of £5 adults, £2.50 concessions here.
