Arsenal in Singapore: Day six round-up

Arsenal lift the Barclays Asia Trophy

With the Arsenal squad not training in the morning due to Saturday's Barclays Asia Trophy final, the club's staff were freed up to take part in an eight-a-side tournament organised by the Arsenal Singapore supporters' group.

Liam Brady, Ivan Gazidis - who scored from a very narrow angle in one match - and Neil Banfield all took part, helping the team to win the competition.

After a final lunch of the tour, it was time for Arsène Wenger and his players to say goodbye to the Shangri-La Hotel - the team's base since Monday. As they had done all week, supporters congregated in the lobby to cheer the team as they left the hotel for the final time.

The Singapore National Stadium was virtually full for the BAT final against Everton, with the overwhelming majority of the 50,000+ crowd backing the Gunners. And Arsène Wenger's men gave them plenty to cheer, scoring three fine goals to secure the first available silverware of 2015/16.

Petr Cech impressed in his first game in Arsenal colours, and he said with a smile at the final whistle: "First game, first trophy, if I can continue like this, I will be delighted."

Wenger described the whole trip to Singapore as "perfect" and the boss was applauded out of the press conference room by the local journalists. Once the post-match media duties were completed, the whole travelling party was whisked to the airport, with the Barclays Asia trophy safely stowed among the hand luggage on the Emirates flight to London Stansted.
