Soccer Schools tournament at Colney

Arsenal Soccer Schools Tournament

On Sunday, June 7, 24 teams from 17 Arsenal Soccer Schools took part in a football tournament at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.

The annual three-a-side tournament gave 10 and 11-year-olds from around the world the chance to represent their local Arsenal Soccer School and compete in this exclusive tournament held on the pitches that the players usually train on.

Arsenal Soccer School teams from the UK were Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Oxfordshire, Kent, Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset, Devon, North Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

Our international Arsenal Soccer School teams were Kuwait, Spain, Greece, Oman and the USA.

Head coach of Arsenal Soccer Schools Kieron Lewis said: “We teach all our youngsters to play the Arsenal way and it was great to get so many of them together for such a successful tournament.

“It was clear to see that all the teams, both local and international, had embraced the Arsenal philosophy and each game was unique with lots of skill on show and plenty of goals.”

Club mascot Gunnersaurus came down to surprise the young players and presented all teams with their well-deserved awards for putting on a splendid display of football.

Well done to all the teams that took part and congratulations to Arsenal Soccer School Middlesex who won the Championship trophy and Arsenal Soccer School Lincolnshire who took home the Shield trophy.
