Santi - My 2014 cup final memories

Santi Cazorla

Santi Cazorla has fond memories of his goal in last season’s FA Cup final.

With Arsenal trailing Hull City 2-0 in the first half, the Spain international curled home a 25-yard free-kick to begin what would become a memorable comeback.

“I am proud to have scored such an important goal for Arsenal,” he said. “To score in a cup final is the kind of goal any player would love to score.

"I remember the goal going in and celebrating with my team-mates, but then just wanting to carry on with the game and keep the momentum going since we were still a goal down.

“So it was amazing, but a short-lived celebration! Thankfully Laurent [Koscielny] and Aaron [Ramsey] were able to score their vital goals to help us win.

“It’s special to play in the final, and the day and match itself does have a different feel to it, being played in a wonderful stadium.

"You know it’s a big game and that keeps you pushing on, as do the fans. I remember how loud they were last year; to see all those red shirts was really special and I’m looking forward to seeing all those Arsenal fans supporting us again.”
