Loan Watch: Six Gunners in action

Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. This season eight Gunners are currently away from the club.

Lukas Podolski was a second-half substitute in Inter’s 1-1 draw with Cesena. Gregoire Defrel gave the visitors the lead but Rodrigo Palacio equalised to rescue a point for Inter.

Cal Jenkinson did not feature in West Ham’s 3-0 defeat at Arsenal. Olivier Giroud scored on the stroke of half-time before Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini sealed the win for the Gunners.

Yaya Sanogo was an 80th-minute substitute in Crystal Palace’s 3-1 win against QPR. Wilfred Zaha, James McArthur and Joel Ward gave the hosts a three-goal lead before half-time. Matt Phillips then pulled one back from 30 yards but Palace held out to secure all three points.

Wellington played the full 90 minutes while Joel Campbell was substituted after 66 minutes of Villarreal’s goalless draw at Almeria. Mauro Dos Santos was sent off for the hosts before Jaume Costa’s received a second yellow for Villarreal, but neither side could make the breakthrough.

Jon Toral was a 79th-minute substitute in Brentford’s 2-1 defeat against Cardiff City. Andre Gray put the home side ahead but Federico Macheda equalised before setting up Alex Ravell’s winner. The Italian striker and Kadeem Harris were then sent off for Cardiff.
