Edu - Alexis has adapted so well

Edu says he is not surprised by how quickly Alexis Sanchez has adapted to life at Arsenal.

The Chilean forward has excelled throughout his first season in north London, scoring 18 goals and delivering a series of scintillating displays.

Edu feels that Alexis benefited greatly from his time at Barcelona and believes the forward is perfectly suited to the Premier League.

"At the moment he is doing fantastically well for Arsenal - arguably their best player of the season so far"

“At the moment he is doing fantastically well for Arsenal - arguably their best player of the season so far,” Edu said. “Many people say that he is one of the current top five players in the world in the position he plays in.

“He was also very good at Barcelona last season and that gave him great experience by playing for such a large club.

“He has adapted very well to English football but that doesn’t surprise me, given his talent. English football is a different style of football, especially if you contrast it with Barcelona’s unique style. He is a very strong player too which surprises many people.”

Edu is looking forward to watching Alexis play against his former team-mate Neymar when Brazil meet Chile at Emirates Stadium on March 29.

“It will be great to play against another South American side like Chile and it will be a great test to see how good this Brazil side is against them,” he said.

“Obviously Neymar is the best player in the current Brazil squad. He is in form at the moment but it is not one player that makes a team - the Germans showed us that.

“We have a good squad and a good coach and I am confident we can do well. We have a number of talented players coming through but Neymar is definitely Brazil’s brightest star.”
