Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain puts Alexis Sanchez’s instant adaption to life in the Premier League down to his “English approach” to the game.
The Chile international has been a revelation for the Gunners this season, scoring 18 times and claiming nine assists in all competitions.
But it is his work ethic and relentless energy that have really caught Oxlade-Chamberlain’s eye - and he says that is the secret to his success.

“The way Alexis has settled in so quickly, you have to give him so much credit for and I think it is the style of player he is, because he is not afraid to get tackled, put himself on the line, track back and work hard,” he said.
“Sometimes if you come from a foreign league, people may think that is not part of their league and they will have to get used to it [here]. But he has come to England and is more English than anyone I have ever seen in the way he plays and his approach.
“I think the rest takes care of itself - his quality and his finishing. He has scored some really good goals and scored some goals that you just have to be in the right place at the right time for. Nasty goals.
“I can remember one away at Sunderland when he closed the keeper down in the 90th minute and he ended up getting himself a tap-in. He’s got the whole package and hopefully it can continue because ultimately that is going to help us.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain says he constantly analyses Alexis’ performances as he seeks to add more goals to his own game.
“I think it’s important for any attacker who wants to be successful to follow his demonstration on how to score,” he said. “On a personal note, I would love to be able to add more goals. It is something I will be working on.
“Sometimes you can’t put your finger on why that part of your game is not going right but I know I have got a lot more to offer the team and I am trying to help the boys drive forward and give other players opportunities to score.
“If it is Alexis getting the goals and we are getting the three points, then I am just as happy for that to happen.”
