Loan Watch: Afobe strikes twice

Benik Afobe scored a brace and got an assist as MK Dons beat Port Vale 4-3 in the FA Cup first round. Ben Williamson opened the scoring but Afobe and Carl Baker struck to put the visitors ahead. Dany N’Guessan equalised but Afobe restored the lead from the penalty spot before setting up Danny Green for the Dons’ fourth. N’Guessan grabbed a second with five minutes left but the visitors held out to secure their place in the next round.

Andre Gray struck either side of half-time to give the visitors the lead but Lee Gregory and Alan Dunne scored within a minute of each other to level. However, Brentford took all three points when Danny Shittu turned into his own net five minutes later.
