Ramsey - Gibbs adds so much to team

Aaron Ramsey has hailed Kieran Gibbs’ form this season and says he is “relishing” the opportunity of playing for England again.

The left-back has been one of the Gunners’ most consistent players this term, delivering a series of solid displays at the back while also creating chances going forward.

Ramsey is delighted for his close friend, and says that his recall to the national team has only helped further build his confidence.

"He gets up and down, he can tackle and puts some crosses in at the other end of the pitch as well"

“Kieran’s performances this season have shown what he’s all about and he’s been really consistent as well, which is vital,” the midfielder said. “He is definitely one that relishes the test of being England full back.

“Everybody is really proud to represent their national team and it means a lot to him. He was delighted to play [against San Marino] and he hopes he can continue in the squad and get a regular chance.

“He’s put in some really good displays [for Arsenal] this season, too. He gets up and down, he can tackle and puts some crosses in at the other end of the pitch as well.

“He’s been really good and hopefully he can continue the form he’s been in.”

Gibbs scored his first goal of the season with a well-struck volley against Anderlecht earlier this month - and Ramsey says he has been reminding his team-mates about it ever since.

“We keep winding him up saying it came off his shin!” he said. “It was a great goal and he gets into those positions quite often so hopefully he can score a few more.”
