Loan Watch: Afobe on target again

Benik Afobe scored in MK Dons’ 3-2 defeat at Bristol City. Kieran Agard opened the scoring and doubled his tally from the spot before half-time. Dean Bowditch and Afobe levelled for the Dons, but Wade Elliott grabbed a late winner for the home side.

Carl Jenkinson replaced Guy Demel for the final 25 minutes of West Ham’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on Saturday. Wayne Rooney opened the scoring inside five minutes and Robin van Persie doubled the lead 15 minutes later. Diafra Sakho then pulled one back before Rooney was sent off for kicking out at Stewart Downing. Jenkinson was denied an assist when Kevin Nolan’s equaliser was ruled out for offside.

Jon Toral was an unused substitute in Brentford’s 2-1 defeat at Watford. Odion Ighalo gave the hosts the lead in the 42nd minute before Jonathan Douglas pulled one back for Brentford. Matej Vydra then scored with a thunderous 20-yard drive to seal the win for Watford.

Ryo Miyaichi played 53 minutes of Twente’s 3-1 win against Utrecht. Former Gunner Kyle Ebicilio opened the scoring in the fifth minute before Chris Kum scored an own goal to double the home side’s lead. Yassin Ayoub pulled one back for Utrecht but Luc Castaignos was on hand to wrap up the three points in the final minute.
