Jack - Chambers is ready for England

Jack Wilshere says Calum Chambers deserves his place in the England squad and is ready to make the step up to the international stage.

Since he joined the club in July, Chambers has featured in every game for the first team, winning praise for his performances at centre back.

Wilshere, who was just 18 when he received his first England call-up, thinks his new team-mate will have no problems if he plays for the Three Lions against Norway on Wednesday.

"He looks so comfortable so one day he's going to play for his country"

"If he's good enough now then why not?" Wilshere told Arsenal Player.

"I was 18 when I got my first call-up and people were saying: is he ready or is he not? If you're performing for your club then you're going to get picked for your national team.

"I think he's a confident lad, you've seen that when he played in the Community Shield - he was one of the best players on the pitch and he keeps improving every game.

"He looks so comfortable so one day he's going to play for his country."
