Kerr and Scott on FA Women's Cup win

Shelley Kerr and Alex Scott think Sunday's FA Women's Cup success can be the turning point in Arsenal Ladies' season.

Goals in either half from Kelly Smith and Yukari Kinga sealed a deserved win for the Gunners over Everton and secured the club an FA Cup double for the first time since 1998.

Kerr, who took charge of her final game on Sunday before stepping down, insists this new-look team has a big future ahead of them.

"I think this was a message for everyone out there how good this team are"

"I'm absolutely thrilled," she told Arsenal Player. "We thoroughly deserved this. I've seen it all along, even when people have been writing us off I know how talented we are and you've seen that today. It probably could have been more than two today.

"The players have been magnificent and that's something that I'm really going to miss because I've had the pleasure of working with such a fantastic group of talented players.

"I think this was a message for everyone out there how good this team are.

"It can be a turning point in our season," Scott added. "We've got the capability of producing that, we just need to find that consistency.

"This time it's different because for half the team, it's their first cup final and that's what makes it more special. Us experienced players are playing for them and to see them to have their own memories now."
