Santi Cazorla says it was important for Arsenal to finish their home season with a win to thank the fans for their support this season.

The Spanish midfielder's corner was headed home by Olivier Giroud in the 14th minute to secure the Gunners their fourth league victory in a row and take them onto 76 points.

They had already sealed a top-four finish before Sunday's game, but Cazorla wants the team to keep their momentum ahead of the FA Cup final in two weeks' time.

The fans always help the team and it was a good moment for every player

"I think the game was a little bit slow because [Saturday's] result of Everton was important for us," he told Arsenal Player. "The victory for our fans was the most important thing for the team.

"The fans always help the team and it was a good moment for every player.

"We need to play well until the end because we play one more game in the Premier League and we want to take the three points and then focus on the final."

Cazorla's compatriot Nacho Monreal praised the Emirates crowd for their support and is determined to finish the season by lifting the FA Cup.

"The atmosphere was unbelievable all season," he said. "The fans are incredible for all the games, they were with us and that's very important for us.

"Now we have the opportunity to win a trophy, we must produce a good game and win the trophy."
