Frank Stubbs: Merry month of May?

13/14: Arenal 3-0 Newcastle United - Laurent Koscielny

Monday night's victory over Newcastle saw us put one foot into next season's Champions League, something that looked potentially unlikely only a couple of weeks ago. But we are not there yet. Sunday's game against West Bromwich Albion is massive for both us and our visitors. That makes it a dangerous cocktail.

You could sense an air of tension around N5 on Monday. Despite knowing our team has the ability and desire to go on and clinch the current targets, us football fans have an irritating habit of fearing the worst!

London's latest tube strike added something to the whole situation and overall it all felt a little chaotic. Fortunately on the pitch this definitely wasn't the case and we put in a solid, professional performance to clinch those massive three points.

We scored three good goals, the third being particularly pleasing on the eye and although it is safe to say we weren't perhaps at our brilliant best, the fact the Geordie's goalkeeper Tim Krul prevented it from being a rout is probably a good indication of how much we dominated the game overall.

The perfect result then before we take on the Baggies on Sunday. Come Saturday night we will know just how crucial it could be. Whatever the situation, concentrating on a win is paramount.

Let's give the players one final 'home' push by wearing our colours with pride and making some noise.

Victory Through Harmony.
