It has been an exciting start to the new season for Arsenal - and our Club photographers have been with the first-team squad every step of the way.

We asked photographer David Price to choose his 10 favourite pictures of the campaign so far, and below he reveals the reasons behind each selection.

1. The fans leave Emirates Stadium
The Arsenal supporters leave Emirates Stadium via the Danny Fiszman Bridge after the 3-1 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League. David says: “I'd had the chance to get a picture from this unique vantage point since the start of the season, but I waited until we had a night match because I wanted to try to get some idea of the fans' movement across the bridge. Also the darkness hides the building work and highlights the stadium and the letters. I’m really pleased with this picture."

2. Martin Angha goes underground
Young defender Martin Angha poses for an Arsenal Magazine photoshoot at Arsenal tube station. David says: “I heard on Twitter that Martin had travelled on the tube after making his first-team debut in the Capital One Cup. I thought that was quite unusual so when I heard he was going to be in the Arsenal Magazine I asked him if he wouldn’t mind coming down to take a few pictures on the platform of Arsenal tube station. He said he’d get there for 4.15pm and he was spot on. I was waiting on the platform, a train rolled in at 4.15pm and there he was. Swiss timing!”

3. Emmanuel Frimpong changes his boots
Emmanuel Frimpong changes his boots before warming up ahead of the under-21s' match against Reading at Underhill. David says: “At under-21 matches I have a bit more freedom to move around the team. I was in the changing room photographing the players as they were walking out for their warm-up. All the players had left and I was just about to go pitchside when Manny ran back in to change his boots. I like the big smile which is exaggerated due to his gumshield."

4. Jack is back
Jack Wilshere returns to action for the under-21s at West Brom after 14 months on the sidelines with ankle and knee injuries. David says: “Not an amazing picture at all but I just like it because it’s exactly how I remember Jack before his injury lay-off. Ball at his left foot, striding forward with his tongue out! I hope to take many more of these pictures in first-team matches in the near future."

5. Carl Jenkinson holds off Javi Garcia
In a thrilling end to the match at the Etihad Stadium, a marauding Carl Jenkinson holds off Manchester City midfielder Javi Garcia. David says: “I like this picture because it sums up the last 20 minutes of the match for me. We had started to play really well and with lots of confidence, and I think this picture sums that up. Carl was bursting forward and the City player was reduced to making a clumsy challenge on him to halt his progress. I thought if the match had lasted five more minutes we would have won it."

6. Kelly Smith relaxes before the Continental Cup final
Arsenal Ladies legend Kelly Smith in relaxed mood ahead of the Continental Cup final victory over Birmingham City at Underhill. David says: “Just a fun picture. I knew if I stood next to Gunnersaurus, the ladies might 'high five' him so I’d get a relaxed picture - but I never expected this to happen! It probably shows how many times Kelly has played in big matches that she can be so relaxed before a final."

7. Olivier Giroud opens his account
Olivier Giroud lifts the ball over Coventry goalkeeper Joe Murphy in the Capital One Cup to score his first goal for the Club. David says: “Again, this is just a nice picture but with the added importance that it was Olivier getting off the mark at the Emirates. The first of many, I hope."

8. Andre Santos heads to the changing room
Brazilian defender Andre Santos heads to the changing room after warming up for the under-21s ahead of their match against Reading at Underhill. David says: “I must have been feeling inspired at this match! I was standing near the touchline as the players walked back in after their warm-up and I noticed that I could get the floodlight between me and them. I thought I’d fire a few frames and see how they turned out. The glow around Andre just makes it a different shot."

9. Lukas lands in Luton
Lukas Podolski steps off the plane at Luton airport following a visit to Lagos, Nigeria in pre-season. David says: “I like this shot because of the look on Lukas’ face. It’s like, 'Right that’s the Nigeria trip over, let's get down to business'. Also, it’s not often that you get to travel like that.”

10. Theo Walcott celebrates against Coventry
Theo Walcott celebrates after scoring his first goal against Coventry in the Capital One Cup third-round victory. David says: “A nice celebration shot of Theo looking like he really enjoyed that first goal. I have no idea what the hand gesture meant. I asked a colleague in the press office but they didn’t know either."
